Software.thai.net is a central site that coordinate and facilitate software development activities which rely on few aspects:

• the software must be able to use Thai language and make suitable for the users in Thailand
• the project cherishes the open source concept
• Thai implementation relies on the established standards to ensure total interoperability
• the project is done through collaborative development
• the software is available to the general public at no cost

Apart from a few informational pages on this site, most links contains information written in Thai language.

About the "Open Source" concept

The phrase "Open Source" is registered as a Certification Mark in the Public Interest. It doesn't just mean access to the source code. The distribution terms of an open-source program must comply with the criteria here. There are so many Open Source software which have been proven to be very successful either as free or commercial software. Good examples are Apache, Perl, BIND and sendmail.

The Logo was designed by Isriya Paireepairit. The red letter "O" stands for Open Source which is the heart of this program.
